About the Author
| Jon Ponikvar is a 27-year-old comic artist, animator and musician. He has been studying his passion, the comic art form, since 1998 and has been developing his work over the years. Peter and Company has gone through several different forms in the past before arriving at its current, finalized version you see presented on the pages of this website.
Jon’s influences include the classic Looney Tunes cartoons and animated shorts of Chuck Jones and Tex Avery. Before receiving any classical training in the arts, he studied stills from Warner Brothers cartoons from a variety of sources to teach himself the basics. In time he adopted the style and continued developing it into a hybrid look of his own. Currently, Jon is a graduate student at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia. He is majoring in Sequential Art and has taken other classes in both 2D Animation and Illustration. After graduation he plans on pursuing a career as a professor of art, while also self-publishing his own personal comic projects. Jon’s other comics include a graphic novel entitled The Chronicles of Ademar, an epic novel series illustrated in full ink wash with watercolor highlights, and a few other projects which will be debuted in time.
