Comic #134: Sibling Espionage

Another page in full color, thanks to a recent donation! This one took me a little bit of time to get up thanks to finals yanking me around, but I’m still pretty happy with how it looks. I haven’t drawn Persephoni in her “Pearl” bunny form in awhile.

A pretty fun announcement: I’m going to be spending the next month to work on coloring the past 30 pages’ worth of P&C for a short collection book, entitled “Of Cats and Crushes.” It will include all of the online comics #101-130, from the introduction of Whitney through the Summer school story. Additionally I’m also putting together work on a third P&C book, which will be a 20-30 page story revealing some pretty interesting history of one of the characters. This story won’t be published online, so the only way you’ll be able to read it is by picking up a copy of the book. At this point I’m debating on combining the two books, but I’d like to be able to get it under the $15-20 mark (which may be tough thanks to Lulu’s higher prices on full color printing), so they may very well be sold separately. I’ll have to see how they total up once they’re done.

For the Cats & Crushes book, I’m shooting for sometime after New Year’s to have it ready to purchase. The other book (the story of which I won’t reveal until closer to its completion) should only take me a few more weeks after that to get done.

To help meet these goals, I’m going to change the format a bit on the new pages. I’ll be doing a test run of that with next week’s page: specifically, abandoning the grayscale shading in favor of experimenting with spot blacks and other inking techniques. You’ll see what I mean with the next page (or by looking at this week’s page without the color). I’m trying to find ways to meet a regular weekly schedule since I have my grad thesis coming up fast, and I’m sure you’re as tired as I am of having weeks go by without a new page.

So yes, see you all next week with the next page. I’ve already finished the next seven pages of updates ahead of time thanks to my final projects, so there won’t be any more empty weeks around here for a while!

Absolutely! Actually I’m putting together the first piece of that project over the next month as well. That’s more of just an on-the-side kind of thing, but it’s still going to be fun to see how it turns out.
