Comic #124: Summer Sentencing

Monday, June 1st, 2009

I had decent enough grades growing up, so I never actually went to Summer School as a kid. Even though I imagine it must have been a really aggravating experience, I think Peter’s time in the summer slammer will be a bit different than most.

    does this mean…

    MORE KORGAR!?!?!?!?!

He’s the only one able to handle a stuff-burning, finger-naming classroom!

    And yeah, Iggy’s jealous.

  2. J.J. Says:

    KORGAR!!!

I have to laugh to two reason’s Jon. First, most teachers hate summer school just as much as the kids do (imagine trying to teach a whole school year’s worth of material in 8 weeks). And, second…

I’m a math teacher, I’ve done summer school in 80 to 90 degree heat, and I don’t blame Peter one bit! Seth.. Peter needs a break! Use your powers! Set Peter FREE….!

Hehe, my school’s summer school wasn’t like that. They were fun class about interesting stuff like international cooking and archeology, so I actually liked summer school.
Another great comic, I absolultly love how good you are at expressions.
Hmmm, something tells me Whitney’s going to be in summer school, too. Just a hunch.

  4. The J.A.M. Says:

Feh. School should be year long, like in Japan. :D :D :D
I think they have it like that in Nevada, too…

  5. Joanna Says:

This just might be my favorite strip so far. I love the expressions and the dialogue. Perfect. Keep up the awesome work! :)

“…forced to sit with kids who like to burn things or have names for all their fingers.” The best line ever!

  6. just me Says:

    “just [...] 8 weeks”
that’s longer than our summer holidays (kids only get 6 weeks around here)

  7. Teenlink Says:

@ The J.A.M., year-round school is optional here. Most kids are zoned for 9 months, but you can get a zone variance if you want to go to a year-round school. They’re usually private, though.
