Guest Comic: “The Christmas Kiss” by Layla Buttons

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

Just in time for Christmas, we have a very special comic here. This strip was originally sent in as an entry for the Holiday Art Contest by Layla Buttons. I just love how this one turned out. There has been a good turnout for the contest so far, but to everyone who is still planning on submitting an entry, keep in mind that all entries must be received by 11:59 pm EST on December 20th, which means you have exactly ONE WEEK FROM THE DATE OF THIS POST to get your artwork finished and sent in before the deadline! Update 12-22: Due to the request of several people who claimed they needed the extra time, I have decided to extend the deadline for the contest for another few weeks until after the holiday rush. It was poor planning on my part, not realizing that a good number of you wouldn’t have the time to draw while simultaneously visiting family for the holidays. So, the new deadline for the contest is January 20th. I’ll give everyone an extra month to get their entries in that really wanted to enter the contest, and I’ll be back on the first week of January with a new P&C comic page. Merry Christmas, guys!

Just as a reminder, send your submissions to PeterAndCompany@gmail.com.

My free time over the holidays has been pretty crazy. It doesn’t even feel like it’s supposed to be the middle of December already! Since I am leaving on Sunday morning to visit family in Virginia and will be gone through New Year’s, I will be unable to produce the comic, so the next official page of Peter & Company will be posted on the first week of January after my return. I do apologize that I was unable to get a new page done sooner, but the holidays can be hectic as anyone knows!

I will be making one more post around Christmas Eve to announce the winner of the contest. Remember, everyone who submits a piece of artwork will receive a free trading card as a gift just for participating! If you would like your own card and a chance at winning a free copy of the P&C Collection Book, now is the time to send it in!

Merry Christmas, everyone! :)

For every $30 that is donated overall, a page will be posted in full color!
Current tally: $15.00 Pages Owed: 0

I really wanted to participate, but for the life of me I can’t find the time. All I did these last few months art-wise was finish one drawing, that’s all. Ah, well, maybe next time :)

Stick-figures make good fan art if they’re REALLY GOOD…..but it all crumbles w/out a scanner.

Soon, soon we will know the winner! XD And I do hope the entries can be posted somewhere so we call all see each other’s work.

Oh, and I agree, there’s an art to stick-figures. Drawn well, they can kick serious tail!

I really can’t wait to see who wins the thing! Apologies for not being able to get in an entry myself, but I must be inspired before I try to even attempt drawing…

Heh… that’s the reason I won’t do any form of weekly anything.

Hehe, well to all those who missed the updated post above, I extended the contest deadline until January 20th. I was getting a lot of requests from people who didn’t have the time to produce their finished entry in the middle of all the holiday chaos. If I get more submissions I may put together a contest page where people can see the submissions that have been posted so far, but that depends on how many more I get before the deadline this time.

So to all those people who were putting it off and thinking that they couldn’t do it before the holidays… now ya ain’t got no excuse! Mwa-ha-haaa!!

I tried to access your site yesterday early in the morning, but my computer wouldn’t access the page for some reason. I kept trying, but all I got was an error page. I tried again later through google, rather than the link in my favourites just in case it was broken, and I got a page resembling (but obviously not being) the My Computer page (Start > My Computer). It said that I had a virus and a pop-up window asking whether I wanted to download a certain anti-virus. It did anyways, but I closed the internet before it could even go half-way through.

I’m not sure if my computer is just sensitive or not, but I thought you’d like to know. Again. ^^” Your site seems to be fine now, but I’m not sure if that’s your doing since you’ve made no comment on it… ummm… yeah.

    I love your comics.

Hehe, well that’s definitely a new one, I must say. The site works fine for me too when I load it straight up, but the first time I tried clicking on it through Google (like you described), I also got the random redirect to an antivirus website. Trying it a second time through Google actually worked fine, so it only did the pop-up thing the first time, and only through Google. I checked the site code on my server’s end and everything looks clean, so it isn’t anything I can fix. Something on Google’s end is causing a random redirect. Very weird.

Thanks for letting me know about it. I’ll contact Google and see if there’s a glitch they can fix.

I tried acessing it about three months ago and the same thing happened. Then I go freaked out and emailed R.H. Junior (http://www.rhjunior.com/) about it. Then I went backand everything was ok. So…yeah. What does penultimate mean, anywho?

I’m free! I haven’t had internet for the longest time, but now I’m mooching off of my neighbor’s Wi-Fi (with permission) and using it on my Wii (as I don’t have a laptop). I should be able to follow-up with the comics again.

PS. Sent you a messege via Wii for friendcodes. Hope you had a merry Christmas and a great New Years! =)
