Comic #112: No Instruction Manual?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Ahh, here we go! It’s time to get this story rolling. What could cause Seth to suddenly decide to take precautionary measures as drastic as this? Hmm, indeed.

It feels good to finally get myself in order with new material. I would’ve had this page finished by last night, but my hand decided to have a shaking fit so I had to wait until today to do the inking. Stupid Crohn’s.

Anyways, this latest page is the first for my new 10-tone palette of grays that I put together for the comic. After reading everyone’s thoughts on the last page, I tried to put more emphasis on the lighter tones to keep it from getting too dark. I’ll be keeping it pure gray, too… now let us never speak of the sepia experiment again.

Also yes, I’m aware that “séance” technically has an accent over the E, but even when I wrote it in by hand over the font, it just looked awkward. It’s still readable so I’m not going to worry too much about it.

For every $30 that is donated overall, a page will be posted in full color!
Current tally: $20.00 Pages Owed: 1

Just wanted to say I think it looks perfect, Jon! All the grays blend together really well, in my opinion.

    Keep up the good work!

HAHAHA! This reminds me of when Mountain Dew Baja Blast first came out. My friend asked me how it tasted and I said, “It tastes like blue.” From that point on we called Baja Blast “blue.”

  6. Keylaleigh Says:

    Yum… blue.

Reminds me of a guy in a D&D campaign that I witnessed once. He could smell colors before he saw them, and he mentioned that a person who was stalking them had robes that smelled blue.

  7. Mike Says:

Hahaha, that’s great. I think we’ve all probably been in that situation, stuck with something with no idea how it actually works.

  8. Sharif Says:

Glad to see that it’s working again.

  9. Jon Ponikvar Says:

Yup. It looks like a hacker got in and put some malicious code in the PHP of my site. I cleaned it all up and got my registry cleared with Google. Hopefully this won’t happen again.

  10. Origamist101 Says:

I think I tasted blue once.
It was an entire bushel of Crayola periwinkles.

Love the skeletons with the fur and ears outlines around them! Brilliant!
