Comic #108: Insider’s Info
Monday, May 19th, 2008Sometimes it would have been nice to know ahead of time whether or not a girl I liked shared any similar interests with me. Finding out that a particular girl was little more than just a pretty face would always be a bit of a letdown, but hey, such is the risk of childhood crushes.
In other P&C-related news, I now have the final prices for the upcoming collection book release. I will have the links posted for those interested in purchasing their copies of the book around June 1st. The prices will be as follows:
$29.99 for the trade paperback edition.
$39.99 for the collector’s hardcover edition.
Both will feature the same content and will be available to purchase through Lulu.com. Once I get everything finalized and make sure it all looks right in print, I’ll post the links here. Unfortunately, as much as I would like to take pre-orders for the book, I just don’t have any way of doing so at this point. Check back around the end of the month to order your copy!
Edit: 5-22: Well, that was interesting. After a bit of a wrestling with Servage’s customer service, I managed to get this site completely back up and running, with all of the original posts and comments intact. That was a bit of a scare, I have to admit, but now that it’s all restored, I safely made a hard backup on my computer (including the MySQL database), so I’m ready if it randomly happens again. Now I can resume production of the book. Joy!
For every $30 that is donated overall, a page will be posted in full color!
Current tally: $15.00 Pages Owed: 0

I laughed at the comic when I first read it. Then, when I went back to “critique” it, I laughed again at Seth’s face in the fourth frame.
Like: “Where in the world are you going with this?????”

In the first panel Iggy blends in with the grass.

What I’m wondering is, where are all these “geeky” girls hiding? Do they even exist IRL, or are they a myth created by the deepest longing of the modern nerd? Are they a reflection of his existential girlfriendless dilemma, or are they real, walking among us unseen?

Yeah, it so is a girl thing.
And there is such a thing as nerdchicks. They normally have other activities to hide their nerdiness. Most are too afraid to embrace their inner nerd, but there are a few brave ones. *aka my friends. The best places to find the nerd chicks are at debate meets, marching band competitions, and other areas of that ilk.
Nerdchicks aren’t nonexistant, you just have to search for ‘em.

Here here! ‘Tis true, geeky girls do exist. I play video games, and doodle/draw/photoshop. Can’t really say that I read science fiction (I don’t have too much time to read), but I do like watching an occasional science fiction movie. I also do Karate, play piano, sing, and other stuff that’s not considered ‘geeky’, but it’s all those things put together that makes me, and any other girl, unique. =)
PS. And yes, it IS a girl thing.

Ahh good, comments are working again, too. Looks like the site’s finally back to normal!
And yes, girls like that can definitely be found in the real world. Considering that the character of “Whitney” is based on an actual person, I can say for certain that they do exist. You just gotta know where to look.

Trust me, we /do/ exist. You just have to know where to find us. *grin*
