To Kevin: I believe that Iggy likes a girl and wants Peter to ask said girl if she would desire Iggy's company. :)

Slightly off topic, but is anybody else wondering what it is that Iggy wants Peter to ask?

I don't think Origamist knows what she's talking about. This part of the comic is about all of the stuff that a young boy has to go through to lead up to the "Wanna go out?" There's a lot of self-doubt and wondering and fear and preparation and courage building that takes place before the "Wanna go out" takes place. Even in college I'm still hesitant before asking a girl out. An insecure guy would like a girl from afar for a long time before ever thinking of asking her out. There's a lot of information gathering from friends and her friends and from conversations with the girl. Being rejected isn't just "Oh, she doesn't want to date me." To a guy it means "I'm not good enough for her." It's scary to put yourself up for review like that. I think this is exaggerated slightly for comedic effect but is essentially what it's like to ask a girl out for some guys.

And it's not really 2:33 where I am.
Shouldn't Disney make more anthropomorphic films like this?
"Peter and Company": Coming this fall to a Blockbuster near you!
Not really, but we can dream..........

*elongated sigh* If only 8th grade was this simple.
Boy likes girl, boy gets flustered. Here's the real-life version
Boy: "Wanna go out?"
Girl: "uh, sure."
Boy: "'K."
I have got asked out two times this past school year, and have turned both down because it is outlandishly too creepy for me. Thank you for making a comfort zone, however unrealistic.

I love this strip, infact I love the whole " Whitney " series. It is just so cute how you capture his emotions, like I could see where a little boy would act like this when he has a crush on a girl and that's how all the boys I knew in elementary school acted. You have such a way of telling a story where it is really realistic and all of the characters are just so likable. Keep up the good work hun!
