Comic #99: He Knows Peter Well

Monday, December 10th, 2007

What can I say? Seth is always three steps ahead of Peter in everything they do.

Comic-wise, this was another attempt of mine to draw my old neighborhood from memory. A lot of the background details were lost in the inking phase, since it all started to look entirely too cluttered and chaotic. I had to take out a few of the houses and such so you could actually see Seth and Persephoni in a couple areas.

Speaking of which, Seth and Persephoni seem to get closer every time they’re in a comic together. I always wanted them to have a closer bond, but since they are both Guardians, there will always be that element of wonder as to whether or not anything can ever come out of it.

The next comic is the big #100, and will be the final page in this story arc. I’m going to be jumping right into the next story around New Year’s, and introducing a new character to the mix. It should be fun indeed.

For every $30 that is donated overall, a page will be posted in full color!

You know what? The fact that you actually tell us when there’s going to be an update just makes me love this comic more. At least we don’t have to deal with months-old entries. And cool about the contract stuff. Go you.

Now I feel silly for having posted before the actual page went up, but I really like it.

Hehe, whoops! Sorry about the phantom edit of the post, Tom. I usually just delete the original post, but that has a tendency to mess up the post count of the archives. I should probably check for comments before editing posts in the future, hehe.

Thanks for the comments! I try to at least give my readers a heads-up if I’m going to be late so that they know that new material is coming. I’m not a fan of month-old updates, either.

    “I already have.”

Aww! I love Seth, he rocks. Seriously. =3

I hope that even though you’re wrapping up the story arc, its effects will linger and Seth will really teach Peter to “Embrace life itself,” however that will look. I LOVED this arc. I have recently had an experience similar to Seth’s…it’s not fun, but it happens. I’ve felt as guilty as possible I think…

Congratulations on 99! I don’t think, with my attention span, that I would even make it to ten… or one for that matter…

But anyways, that last panel made me go “AWWW!” That was so touching!

  7. Mike Says:

Yay for Seth! I’m glad he’s got Persephone around to keep his spirits up. Guardian or not, he still clearly has feelings and can get down on himself. Great work, as usual! Can’t wait to see what’s next.

  8. BlueNight Says:

Wow. Now THAT’S a wise mentor. Great way to end incipient dramaqueening there.
