Comic #95: Letters on a Bed

Monday, September 24th, 2007

After the events of the last page, I just want to put any worries you may have to rest: Peter & Company has always been a humorous comic and always will be. I just like to have these little moments of emotion with the characters where you get to really see them shine. This is one of those story arcs that is more about character development than random worm-related chaos, and it’s one that is very important in terms of letting you all see into Seth’s role in the overall story.

So yes, anywho! If Peter’s room looks particularly tiny in those last few panels, it’s because it really is. That was my bedroom growing up and it was quite literally about the size of two large closets put together in an “L” shape. There was enough room for a bed, dresser, and MAYBE a desk if I could really get creative with the room arrangement. It was tiny, but I was a tiny kid, so it worked out fine.

Re-Update: Sorry guys… I’m back in VA, but I’m going to have to miss the update for this week. The next page will be posted on Monday, Oct. 8th.

Current Tally: $5.00 Pages Owed: 0
$30.00 = One page in full color!

First comment for the page…and for me for that matter.
I’ve reading P&C for a while now and I must say it’s grown quite rapidly into one of my most favorite web-comics out there (and I do read a whole lot of ‘em, trust me). It’s the kind of humor that reminds me of my own childhood and the heroes from then. Love the story arcs and love the work you do with the characters and their evolution. Wasn’t really expecting this little turn up taken into account the last page…but I do believe it’s for the best.
I’ll be checking back next week for another page…or whenever it’ll be possible. I don’t mind waiting for a good thing.

I think I’ll stab at it… those are the people he was Guardian of before Peter… and he’s in tears because he misses them dearly and isn’t allowed direct contact with them anymore… … … I don’t know.

You seem to be enjoying knowing something no one else does.

  3. Tom Says:

The first panel is magnificent. I love the way you worked the angle with Seth on the roof.

  4. BlueNight Says:

Yes, exceppent job on the art in this one. Multiple backgrounds and angles are always a plus. As for the story, thanks for softening the blow, but not drawing it out.

WOW! I just found this comic today and have finished reading through the archives. What a great comic! I love it; it makes me smile. ^_^

I can’t wait for the next update!

  6. Discordany Says:

Phelock, really? I hope that’s what it is.

For some reason, I saw it as a sign that he’d have to leave Peter soon (NOOOO :P ). Like they were to be future charges or something, even though it seems clear that they’re too old.

    I hope you’re right, though!

Anyway, I actually enjoy the little “emotional interludes”. It makes this a story, rather than just a comic.

  7. Mike Says:

I agree with Phelock, that’s what I thought when I saw that.

And, as this is the most recent comic, I’d like to say that I just discovered this comic, and also just finished reading through the whole archive. Fantastic work, really. You have excellent art, deep characters, great storylines… I can’t wait to see more!

I stumbled upon your comic a day or two ago, and now I’m hooked! I absoloutly LOVE this comic and has moved to be my number 1 favorite. Also, I really like it when there’s these stories, it’s what makes all the characters so unique and seem more real. Keep it up with this wonderful comic! =D
