Comic #87: Chelsea’s Party Pg. 8
Monday, June 11th, 2007I’m starting to find that I can’t stop myself from going overboard with my backgrounds nowadays. I’ve become addicted to fine details, most of which become unnoticeable when I scale it down to web-size. At a larger size (like around the size it will be in the collection book) you can see the light hitting the grain pattern on the roof shingles in panel one. Photoshop is such a fun tool.
I wanted to start giving some clues as to the story behind Seth and the other Guardians. I do plan on doing an entire comic explaining the origin of the Guardians and how they work, but it more than likely won’t be published online. I’m saving it to be a bonus comic in a future book release (not the first collection book, but possibly the one after that).
Also, I started updating JonPonikvar.com as a Sketch-A-Day Blog again. Hop on over and check it out during the days between comic updates.
If you’d like to see more pages of Peter & Company in full color, click the Donation button below! Every $30.00 total donated via Paypal will earn one full-color page update (and help this college grad buy another round of groceries for himself)!

You know normally I would say that this comic is better in black and white but I honestly can’t say that today, great use of the moonlight behid Seth and Persephoni(Sp?) while they talk.

You did it in color! This is awesome Jon! You did an excellent job on this strip. Will we be seeing more color in the future?

Thanks, Kiki! You’ll be seeing more full-color comics if people send donations by clicking the button below the commentary. Every $30.00 donated overall earns another page of full color. Otherwise I’ll just be posting the grayscale versions of the comic from this point on.
This doesn’t mean it’ll be the last time you ever see a full-color comic from me; the P&C Collection books will be in full-color (yes, I’m going back and coloring every single strip posted so far). Donating just lets you see the colored pages ahead of time online rather than having to wait for the books to come out.

I must say that the detail on the background is noticeable. You have a cool Herge-ish clean line style going on. Classy.
