Comic #82: Chelsea’s Party Pg. 3
Tuesday, April 17th, 2007Wow, a Tuesday update. Hope I don’t get too many of these in the future.
Admittedly there’s a lot of talking in this page, but then again, I’ve got a lot of story to tell. I like the fact that I can fit in a good amount of dialogue and not have to worry about forcing out a punchline. It’s a nice change, and definitely takes away the pain of having to write a story specifically to fit the constraints of the medium.
Just a few quick notes/trivia facts about this comic:
1. Does the middle girl in this comic look familiar? To anyone who has read my other comic, that’s a 12-year-old Buckley bunny.
2. “The Posse” was the name of Peter, Seth, Iggy and Skin’s circle of friends in the original Peter & Company strip from years back, before the Guardian story. The name isn’t going to stick this time around, but I wanted to do an off-the-cuff throwback to it somewhere along the line. In the same token, Ezzy and Chelsea’s grouping in the old P&C (with two other characters whom no longer exist) was called the “Brat Pack,” but considering that was so awful to begin with I doubt I’ll ever mention it in any future pages.

A Tuesday update is WAY better than an empty week!
Ezzy’s pose/expression in the (1,2,3,4…) 5th frame makes me chuckle. ^^ Phenelope(sp?) is either gonna rat ‘em out or kick some nonexistant worm butt. XD

There’s nothing wrong with having a lot of dialogue. It makes the comic more fun to read. I can’t wait to see what the worms are planning to do. Take care Jon.

Wahoo comicy goodness! There is a lot of dialogue but it works well, the page doesn’t look over stuffed. I thought that was a cute little Buckley Bunny, though the fur pattern change from TCOA made me wonder. She’s cute none the less, any reason for the change? Speaking of TCOA, how are things going on it? I’m looking forward to it, seems like it will be great. I went to check the forum but Pro Board’s main page came up.
Hehe, looks like the worms and Peter might have a little set back, can’t wait to see what develops on that.
Guestperson the pet rabbit is really Chelsea’s guardian Persephoni in her incognito form, though i don’t think Chelsea is aware she has a guardian.

Hey jon nice work it’s about time we had a strip with dialogue instead of the regular punchline,I think that the young buckley in frame 3 was really cute and for some reason in frames 2,5 and 7 Ezzy’s eyes creep me out.
