Strip #18

Saturday, April 16th, 2005

The old Peter and Company (to those who were around to read it) featured a different version of the character of Chelsea. Originally she was an overly cheerful and hyperactive character; now she’s more of a bullying instigator than anything else. She gives Peter a really hard time, despite the fact that her best friend is his sister.

I decided to change this because I wanted there to be more of a conflict within her personality. This way, she should be able to hold her own in the action of the strip more than she could before. That and having too many cheerful characters gives the strip a bit too much of a “sweetened” feel.

She’ll still get hyperactive if she has sugar — she’s retaining that part of her original personality — but it won’t play as major of a role as before.
